The speed of a wave is equal to the product of its wavelength and frequency: The distance traveled by a wave per unit time is its speed ( v) The distance traveled by a wave per unit time., which is typically measured in meters per second (m/s). As you can see in Figure 6.2 "Important Properties of Waves", two waves can have the same amplitude but different wavelengths and vice versa.
