If i'm late coming to the table with this issue then i apologise but i do think this is an area for improvement! So now i have an absolute mass of workstations/laptops to update so we are on the latest release for 2015 products.Ĭan somone please tell me how are we supposed to know that the Navisworks Exporters have updated? Could this process be improved so that when you Service Pack Simulate and Manage it includes the latest version of Navisworks Exporters or will there be a Service Pack release specifically for Navisworks Exporters as the way i see it is that you need to uninstall before reinstalling the latest version. The frustrating thing is we deploy all Autodesk Software that the Navisworks Exporters are applicable to with the Exporters. There is no reference to even point you to them to upgrade these at the same time which could be done quite easily. Whats really annoying about this is that we have actually kept up to date with Navisworks Simulate and Manage 2015 (Service Pack 3) but the Service Packs dont update the Navisworks Exporters. Unfortunately i cannot see a Navisworks Ideastation, otherwise i would have posted this there but i'm curious to know how many others new this. So actually in fact the Navisworks Exporters are updated but for you to know they have been updated is impossible to find know unless you kept going back to the link. Nor have i seen an update for Navisworks Exporters on the Navisworks Support pages when Service Packing Navisworks Simulate or Manage, nor is there a seperate link to the new release on the NWC Utility download page however, when i selected the link for Navisworks Exporters 2015 i noticed that there was just the one link but the download filename was appended with R3!!! As soon as i saw R3 i thought, hmm, haven't seen an update on Autodesk Application Manager about Navisworks Exporters updated. So I engaged with Support to find that they made reference to Navisworks Exporter Release 3. NET, reconfiguring Navisworks Exporters for 2015 AutoCAD based products, loading the *.arx manually. I tried numerous things like reinstalling. Firstly, apologies if this comes across as a rant but I'm curious to know how many of you Navisworks users knew that Navisworks Exporters were actually updated?įYI, we had an issues with Plant 3D 2015 and Navisworks Navigator, unfortunately everytime we tried to use it the tool simply crashed Plant 3D 2015.
